The firm was established in 1991 by natural persons who were active in the field of the dairy industry and foreign trade.

The core activity of the firm has been formed, since the very beginning, by exports of dairy products, especially powdered milk and butter. This trend has been kept so far, but the product range has been extended with cheese, condensed milk, whey powder, UHT milk, milk tank articles, infant nutrition articles, dry mixtures and consumption products.
In 2000, the company decided to invest into various enterprises of the Jihlava region focused on farming activities, in view of a more effective interconnection of producers and processors.
 In 1993, the company purchased a majority share in Jihlavské mlékárny a.s., currently Moravia Lacto a.s. Jihlava, and in 2006 it managed to extend the dairy division with such plants as Bohemik a.s. Opočno and Mlékárna Olešnice RMD a.s., whereby the group has fostered its position especially in the field of durable dairy products, cottage cheese, white cheese and gastronomic product range, including ice cream mixtures and infant nutrition articles.
The export which accounts for approximately 95 % of the company revenues at an amount of about CZK 1 billion is directed especially to the area of the European Union, Russia, Balkan countries, Japan, South-East Asia and South America. The remaining 5 % of the turnover is formed by imports of food additives. Within the framework of the Czech Republic the firm keeps a leading position amongst exporters of dairy products.

In 1995, INTERLACTO, spol. s r.o. acquired an exclusive representation for the Czech market from Palsgaard AS, with regard to the sale of emulsifiers and stabilisers for the food processing industry of a top quality.
To our foreign partners we are ready to offer, besides the high-quality dairy products, also professional services consisting in the ensuring of customs and veterinary procedures, laboratory analyses or logistics according to the needs of the customers.

In terms of its professional involvement, Interlacto is a member of the Czech-Moravian Dairy Association (ČMSM) where it operates especially as a consultant for various issues of foreign trade in dairy commodities, and a member of Eucolait (the European Association of Dairy Trade).
